Bid Bond / Bid Security
A financial guarantee (typically 1-5% of bid value) submitted with a tender to demonstrate the bidder's commitment. If the winning bidder withdraws or fails to sign the contract, the bid bond is forfeited. Common in construction and large-value tenders.
