Within the project "Establishment of large thermal storage and its hydraulic integration into district heating distribution at HKW West site" (overall WSPW project) of Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, a heat storage system shall be implemented to ensure sustainable, future-proof and secure heat supply.
The 2-zone heat storage system to be designed shall store and provide thermal energy on demand within the district heating system. The unpressurized heat storage system shall enable separate heat intake and discharge at different temperature levels through thermal stratification. Through hydraulically decoupled connection to the district heating network via separate flow and return systems, the heat storage system shall contribute to balancing load fluctuations and temporal decoupling of heat generation and consumption.
This procurement shall include functional flow and return as well as mixing pumps, including all components required for proper operation, planned, manufactured and delivered within specified delivery limits.
